Welcome!
I post book reviews as often as possible but at least once a week every Wednesday! I hope they help you to find some new books that you'll love as much as I did!
Sorry for the delay in posting this review, until about half way through, I struggled to get into the book so it took me longer to read than usual. I found the first half a little slow but after that it got much more interesting and had me hooked.
I really loved the ending of the book. It was finished to such a good standard and Steiner really took the time to complete it properly. Despite the problems and turmoil in her life, I even grew to love Manon and was delighted to see her get a happy ending. I enjoyed the alternative way the book was written and reading the story from several different points of view really added to the interest for me. All of the characters' views interlinked and wove together to form the story beautifully. As I mentioned earlier though, I did take a long time to get into the book. It's the kind of book where you need to give yourself a couple of days curled up on the sofa, plenty of cups of tea and just flat out reading. Stick with it and you'll be rewarded by the second half. Even though I absolutely loved the end of the book, I feel that I can only give it 3 out of 5. Simply because I felt there was too much 'scene setting' in the beginning and I have to include the entirety of the book in my review. If I was just reviewing the end, it would absolutely be 4.5 out of 5. This e-book was provided to me free in exchange for an honest review.
